Emmanuel Adebayor is wanted by Atletico Madrid as he looks for a way out of Tottenham – just 10 weeks after sealing a move to White Hart Lane, writes The Sunday People.

Adebayor has yet to start a match under Andre Villas-Boas, and the Togo international has made his dissatisfaction clear to the Spurs boss.

Atletico, who are enjoying an outstanding start to the La Liga season, are weighing up a bid for Adebayor as they seek potential replacements for highly-rated Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian striker is wanted by Chelsea, as well as several other European superpowers.

And Atletico know the European champions could make them an offer they cannot refuse in January.

That could lead to Adebayor making a swift exit from Spurs and returning to the city where he enjoyed a loan spell at Real Madrid two years ago.

Adebayor, 28, took a wage cut to secure a £5million move from Manchester City in August after a protracted saga.

Despite a successful season-long loan at Spurs last term, he has been left out by AVB in favour of Jermain Defoe.

Tottenham would not allow Adebayor to leave until they have signed a replacement. Sevilla’s Alvaro Negredo is one of many strikers on the north London club’s radar.
