Manchester United legend says the Red Devils can forget about winning the Premiership without De Gea

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has said that his old club can forget about winning the Premiership title if they sell David De Gea to Real Madrid this summer.

“If Manchester United lose David De Gea they can forget about a title challenge,” he wrote in his column for The Sun.

“A club like United cannot allow a keeper of De Gea’s stature to leave because the transfer fee they receive from Real Madrid will not make up for missing out on major trophies.”

The way we see it hear at Soccer Transfers it is time to forget about De Gea and look to the future, because even if they were to keep De Gea now, all the 24-year-old will be thinking about is moving back to Spain next summer, while at the same time blaming his current employers for not letting him leave.

And while we have to admit Sergio Romero looked dodgy on occasions this afternoon against Tottenham, the Argentinian we think will only get better.

What United must do now is sign Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen and start to forget about De Gea as his heart is now longer in Manchester.
