Atletico Madrid trainer Diego Simeone has admitted that he will only be able to sleep well once more after the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The Argentinian coach knows that many of the top clubs in Europe including the Premiership top six are all looking at Koke, Jan Oblak, Diego Godin and Antoine Griezmann with an eye to signing them for their clubs, with Chelsea alone already reportedly having a 65€ million euro bid knocked back for midfielder Koke.
While speaking of his concerns the Atletico boss told Spanish sports newspaper AS: “In football, the most dangerous month is August. We have to be on full alert at all times. Let’s hope nothing unexpected happens. As far as we are concerned the squad is 99 per cent closed.
“It (the squad) will be [100 per cent closed] from midnight on 31 August. Until the transfer market closes, you can’t say anything. August always makes me feel nervous. It worries me a lot.”
