Juventus star midfielder Paul Pogba is set to make a £70 million summer move to Barcelona snubbing the Premiership and his hometown club Paris Saint-Germain according to the Daily Star.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal were all thought to be interested in signing the 22-year-old midfields sensation with bosses at the Etihad said to be ready to beat all comers when it came to money in order to sign the French international.

The Premiership runners up were also prepared to make Pogba the highest paid midfielder in the world should he have decided to move to the Abu Dhabi backed club.

From what we know it would appear as though Pogba had his heart set on joining the La Liga champions even if it meant him having to wait until their transfer ban was lifted in January before being allowed to make the move.

The Catalan giants see Pogba as the ideal replacement for midfield general Xavi, and were keen to sell him into the idea of playing at the Camp Nou with a source close to the club saying: “His options are unbelievable if he wants to leave Juventus, but he’s told friends that Barcelona are his No.1 choice. The attraction is obvious.”
