Chief instigator in the move that saw Cesc Fabregas join Chelsea, Barcelona midfield general Xavi is at it once more claiming that Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla is the number one player he would like to see come to the Nou Camp.

The 34-year-old head of the Barca propaganda machine wasted no time Sunday night after the Manchester City game to talk up Spanish international midfielder Santi Cazorla saying he was the one player along with David Silva that he would like to see in the Barcelona team next summer.

While speaking at an event for the Dental industry in Spain Xavi said: ‘There is some great Spanish football talent around. Who would I sign for Barcelona? [David] Silva and Cazorla.’

The 30-year-old Gunners star is under contract with Arsenal until 2016 making him susceptible to a summer bid from the Catalan giants.

Arsenal meanwhile will be looking to offer him an extended contract, but as we have seen with other teams in the Premiership once a player hits 30 they tend to look for a replacement rather than offer a lucrative contract.
