Currently second in the Bundesliga high-flying Wolfsburg already have their eyes set on next seasons Champions League after paying £24 million for Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle during the January transfer window, and now are considering making a summer bid for former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku who had been on loan at Everton from Chelsea joined the Toffee’s fulltime in the summer for a fee of £28 million, but has had an indifferent season so far not living up to the potential that manager Roberto Martinez thought he would bring to the club, yet in fairness we have to say that the Belgium international does not have the kind of support he needs in order to start banging in the goals.

This lack of goals however has not put the Germans off the 21-year-old as they hope to link him up with his Belgium teammate Kevin De Bruyne as they hope to challenge Bayern Munich’s dominance in the league.

Lukaku has made it clear in the past that he wants Champions League football, and should Wolfsburg make an offer of more than Everton paid for him they may be interested in selling.
