As hopes start to fade on Arsenal being able to come to an agreement with Real Madrid over striker Alvaro Morata, after Real Madrid demanded a buy-back clause after three-years or a straight £25 million for the U-21 Spanish international.

John Cross in the Daily Mirror has written that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been on the phone with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti’s right-hand man Zinedine Zidane hoping that the French superstar can convince Ancelotti and club president Florentino Perez to agree to a deal with the Gunners.

Morata established himself in the Real Madrid first team making 20 appearances following the injury to Jesé, but should the Spanish giants manage to sign Liverpool’s Luis Suarez the youngster could once more find himself on the bench.
