Following on from his excellent performance against Uruguay over the weekend in which he scored a goal and provided an assist, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has now confirmed that 21-year-old Joel Campbell will be playing at the Emirates next season.
Campbell joined Arsenal in 2011 before being farmed out to Lorient, Real Betis and then Greek side Olympiakos last season.
Today’s Independent quotes the French manager as saying: “He will definitely come back to us for pre-season,” Wenger who is over in Brazil on commentary duty for France television, said. “He is maturing well.”
Following the match Arsenal were quick to show their support for the Central American striker sending out three tweets in recognition of his fine performance.
