Arsenal, Bacary Sagna, Galatasaray

Turkish giants Galatasaray are claiming to be close to signing a deal with Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna with the right-back out of contract in the summer and nowhere near getting the type of deal he wants in order to stay at the Emirates according to the Daily Star.

While Arsenal would like him to stay the sticking point is over the 31-year-olds contract with Arsenal refusing to offer any player over the age of 30 more than a one-year deal.

Galatasaray have put an offer of £16.4 million on the table and is willing to offer the French international a four-year contract.

The Turkish club has been tracking Sagna for months, but his agent Laurent Gutsmuth admits that they are not the only ones interested in his client saying: “Bacary still has a year left on his contract but Galatasaray and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.”

The current first choice right back is also a former Arsenal player Emmanuel Eboue who has a year still left on his current contract with the Istanbul club.

Galatasaray is under pressure with the number of foreign players at the club with the Turkish League ruling that in any domestic fixture there can be no more than six foreign players in the team.
