If a report by daily star is worth believing, Arsenal might have been given the go ahead to sign highly rated and hardworking Frenchman N’Kolo Kante from Leicester City this summer. Kante who has been one of Leicester’s best players has been linked with a £20 million move to Arsenal in recent time.
The midfielder who only during the last international break got his first cap for France has also been linked with a move to Manchester United but judging by how Wenger seems to get his way with French players that he likes, the Gunners are said to be favorites to sign him.
The good news is that Leicester City have accepted they could be forced to sell the player this summer. Although Leicester look certain to win the league, they are not bigger than Arsenal and Manchester United and Kante knows this for sure.
Arsenal have a strong chance of signing Kante but sincerely, why should Arsenal be trying to sign the player? What need will he meet should he join the Gunners? Already, Arsenal have the likes of Wilshere, Ramsey, newly signed Mohammed Elnenny, Chamberlain and Alex Iwobi all of who can play in Kante’s role.
Knowing Wenger, this report is very unlikely to be true. Arsenal do not in any way need Kante and it will be a big surprise if they sign him.
