Every summer since Arsenal sold Robin Van Persie to Manchester United, the Gunners have always been linked to the signing of one world class striker to the other but hasn’t been able to get any of them so far. Last summer it was the turn of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema to be linked with a move to Arsenal. Wenger who has always been known to be a big admirer of the his fellow Frenchman was said to have tried to convince the former Lyon star to move to Arsenal but nothing came out of the rumour.

Seven months later, Arsenal are been linked heavily to the signing of former Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata with Telegraph claiming Real Madrid are going to activate the buy back clause they had inserted in the contract of the 23-year-old when they sold him to Juventus two summers ago. The report by Telegraph went further to state that once Real Madrid has bought back the Spaniard, they will be re-selling him to Arsenal for £30 million.

Morata had many times confirmed Real Madrid has can decide to buy him back and it is common knowledge that Real Madrid can pay Juventus £24 million to get the prolific striker back. Should the reports be true, Morata will be a good signing for Arsenal. He is in my opinion and the opinion of many people who have constantly watched the striker play agree he is better than Olivier Giroud.

If Arsenal manages to sign Morata this summer, the Gunners will finally have a striker who is capable of helping them win the Premier league title. Something they have not done for 12 years now. The signing of Morata could also be the end of Theo Walcott at Arsenal. He has been behind Welbeck and Giroud and should Morata sign for the Gunners, he wil fall further down the pecking order.
