Sky Sports is today reporting that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez could become a Barcelona player by the end of this weekend.

Talks between the two clubs are currently on-going with the only sticking point being Liverpool’s refusal to sell their leading goalscorer for anything less than £80 million while Barcelona were hoping to sign the controversial striker for around £60 million.

In what could also be good news for Arsenal, Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez is not new believed to be in anyway a part of the Suarez transfer leaving the Gunners free to hopefully get the Chilean striker for around £25 million.

Meanwhile in other Liverpool transfer news the Reds have been knocked back in their efforts to sign Southampton’s Croatian defender Dejan Lovren after the Saints turned down £20 million for a man they signed just a season ago from Lyon for £8.8 million.

Lovren will now push for a move to Anfield by not turning up for pre-season training with Southampton while in the meantime the Reds look to add to the team full of expectations for the coming season.
