As it now appears that Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is set to leave Liverpool for Barcelona, Liverpool fans are eager to speculate on who the club might sign to help fill the goals void Suarez will surely leave behind.

One name being mentioned is Dutch striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar who has not ruled out a transfer this summer.

Currently the 30-year-old plays in the Bundesliga with Schalke, but is being linked with Liverpool as a possible replacement for Suarez.

Despite having two years remaining on his contract with Schalke, he says he will not discuss anything until after the World Cup.

“Regarding the rumours about Liverpool it would only be fair to speak to Schalke first,” he told De Telegraaf.

“I’ve talked with Schalke about an extension for a while. After the World Cup I am having a holiday. Then I will speak to them again.

“With my agent, I now do not talk about the interest from clubs. I focus on the tournament.”

Many Liverpool fans had hoped that should Suarez be sold to Barcelona, winger Cristian Tello would possibly move to Liverpool, but it now seems as if the 22-year-old is set to join Porto where he will link up with former Spanish U-21 trainer Julen Lopetegui with Barcelona still maintaining a buy back option in his contract with the Portuguese club.
