According to the Daily Express Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling will sign a new contract to stay at Liverpool if Jurgen Klopp replaces Brendan Rodgers as manager.

Despite being offered what is considered to be a very lucrative offer of £100,000 per-week some £65,000 more than he currently makes the 20-year-old has been looking to leave Liverpool and has any number of top teams willing to sign him this summer should Liverpool decide to sell rather than have a disgruntled player on their books for the two-years that remain on his current contract.

Here at Soccer Transfer we find this news rather unsettling because to us it indicates that the player is trying to dictate who the manager should be.

Rodgers meanwhile is expected to remain as Liverpool boss next season, but with Chairman Tom Warner flying in from Boston this week anything could happen if he is not satisfied by what Rodgers has to tell him.

Should the Northern Irishman remain in charge he would have no option but to sell Sterling to another club if what he has said about Klopp in indeed true.

We feel that Rodgers will be given another year at Anfield, which means if we are correct now might be the time to put money on Sterling leaving Merseyside.
