Roma are leading the chase to sign Manchester United winger Nani when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Nani has struggled to command a first-team place this season and looks set to be heading out of the exit door in January.

Reports in Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claim Roma are hoping to open talks with the player and want to finalise a deal in the near future.

Nani is unlikely to win back his place in the Manchester United side as Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia look to be first-choice.

The only stumbling block for Roma could be Nani’s wage demands as he is unlikely to take a pay-cut.
