Italian Serie A side AS Roma has thrown their hat in the ring for Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado, according to Tuttosport.

The 27-year-old Colombian international has failed to make his mark at Chelsea since moving to the Premiership from Fiorentina last January and is now a target of Inter Milan and Juventus.

Roma however has expressed their desire to take Cuadrado on a season long loan with an eye to a permanent move next summer.

Chelsea meanwhile would prefer to get back the £26.8 million they spent now rather than wait for possible money down the road.

If all this speculation was not enough his agent is convinced he will be playing for Chelsea next season, and that he will not return to Italy.

“I read with amazement, in some English and Italian newspapers of imaginary brokers or agents associated with the figure of Cuadrado. So I think it is right to clarify. Cuadrado is a Chelsea player, strongly backed by Mourinho just over five months ago, and the coach believes strongly in him. Juan is fine in London is very likely to remain at Chelsea.”

“Juan has the respect of many clubs, but I repeat, Juan is a Chelsea player.”
