Former Arsenal goalkeeping legend Jens Lehmann thinks Petr Cech can take Arsenal to the next level, but only if he can put aside any lingering love he may still have for his former club Chelsea.

The former German international shot-stopper believes Cech has the quality to help Arsenal in their quest to win the Premiership, but he must put to the back on his mind all those years spent at Stamford Bridge in order to acclimatize himself and get stuck into the job at hand with Arsenal.

“Before you can have it in your heart to win titles again, you have to get rid of the love you had before,” Lehmann told the Sun on Sunday . “As a professional, he must get over [his relationship with Chelsea] and needs to know Arsenal want him to win things again for them.

“That is not an easy thing to get over psychologically… it can take a few weeks, even a few months.”
