Manchester City will now be the recipient of a £60 million bid for top striker Sergio Agüero after Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez was told privately that Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez was not for sale according to the Daily Star.

Reports coming out of the Santiago Bernabeu suggest that the Spanish giants will focus all their efforts on signing Agüero promising to make him one of the highest paid footballers in the word.

Since arriving at the Etihad in 2011 for £36 million the Argentinian striker has been a revelation, and despite spending a large part of last season out injured he still managed to score 28 goals.

City’s Chilean manager will do all he can to hold onto Agüero as the striker is a crucial part of Manchester City’s next hurdle which is to win the Champions League.

Real Madrid sees the Argentinian ace as a direct replacement for French international Karim Benzema who is also a possible target for Arsenal.

Speaking about Agüero Perez said: “Right now, there is no real urgency to sign any new players.

“We are not thinking about making a move for Agüero – at the moment.”
