Earlier today we reported that Manchester City was looking to take advantage of the stalemate between Manchester United and Real Madrid by making a move to beat United to the signing of Spanish international defender Sergio Ramos.
Since then Real Madrid has appeared to have lined up the 29-year-olds replacement after the father of Valencia full-back Shkodran Mustafi confirmed that Real Madrid had made contact with his son.
Kujtim Mustafi told Sport1: ‘It is true, there was contact by telephone about this matter.
‘Madrid are a great club with a lot of success. And of course I would be lying if I said that I would not be proud if my son signed for this club.’
From what we understand United has reportedly offered £49.6million for Ramos, with no news yet on any bid from rivals Manchester City.
