Raheem Sterling to tell Liverpool he wants to leave

Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling is expected to tell manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave the club in the coming days.

Despite turning down a new £100,000 per-week contract the England international told a BBC interview last month that he is not a “money grabber”.

The 20-year-old is now set to meet with Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre and manager Rodgers on Friday when he is expected to tell them he wants to move on.

The club meanwhile is refusing to comment as Manchester City, Arsenal and several other top European clubs look on.

Liverpool has already come out and said they will make Sterling honour his contract, but a bid in the region of £35 million could make them sit up and think if they really want to keep a player who no longer wants to play for them.

Meanwhile the Liverpool fans along with us at Soccer Transfer’s feel that given Sterling’s attitude he should be sold and the money invested in players who want to be at Anfield, and are committed to the club.
