Paris Saint-Germain managers Laurent Blanc has decided not to sell Marquinhos to Manchester United.

United manager Louis van Gaal was looking to sign the young centre-back next summer by promising the Brazilian more playing time after he has fallen behind David Luiz and Thiago Silva at the French champions.

United were reportedly ready to pay £30 million for the Brazilian as a part of LVG’s summer overhaul at Old Trafford.

PSG boss Laurent Blanc is adamant that the 20-year-old will stay at the Parc des Princes and that PSG is putting together a new offer which will keep him at the club.

He said: “Marquinhos has a spirit and a special mentality.

“We have done everything to keep him and we will do everything possible to extend his contract.

“It is good that as a player he can operate in different defensive roles, and let’s not forget he is just 20 years old. He and Adrien Rabiot.
