Manager of Paris Saint-Germain Laurent Blanc is trying to get into Jose Mourinho’s head as we move close to the Champions League clash between the two footballing power houses.
The French trainer called Mourinho a “genius” after the Blues provided the shock of the FA Cup fourth round losing to League One side Bradford City 4-2 at Stamford Bridge despite being up 2-0 at half-time.
“Our Champions League tie with Chelsea? Mourinho is a genius,” Blanc told Le 10 Sport.
“They lost the FA Cup game against Bradford 4-2, which gave them a week to prepare for the Champions League game against us.”
Blanc also thinks that the Chelsea boss escaped the criticism he deserved following the defeat to a club they should have easily beaten.
‘Just think about the tsunami of criticism there would have been if PSG had lost a game like that,’ added the ex-Manchester United centre-back.
‘People would have said PSG’s coach does not understand anything. It’s like that.’
Chelsea visits the Parc des Princes for the first-leg on February 17th with the second leg at Stamford Bridge on March 11th.
