UEFA boss Michel Platini has vowed that goal-line technology will NOT be used in European matches.

And the Frenchman blasted world governing body FIFA for using it at the World Club Cup, arguing that the money should be spent on the grassroots.

Platini said: “To put goal-line technology into our competitions is 50million Euros in five years.

“I prefer to give it to the grassroots and developing football than put it into technology for perhaps one or two goals per year.

“It is not a question of goal-line technology, it is a question of technology. Where do you begin and where do you end with it?”
