Arsenal has reportedly been warned they must spend £14.5 million to sign the highly-rated Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco.

The man who is being touted as the new Patrick Viera was in fine form last week scoring the opener in Arsenal’s humiliating 3-1 Champions League defeat at the Emirates.

With Gunners boss Arsene Wenger eager to bring in a defensive midfielder during the summer the price Monaco is asking for the 22-year-old is £14.5 million according to the Express.

This is around £10 million less than they would have to pay for Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, which could have Wenger thinking about the French youngster.

For us here at Soccer Transfers we would go for Schneiderlin, but all the money we envision spending is purely imaginary, so it could come down to how much funds the 65-year-old manager has available for transfers.
