In what we already well nearly 100% knew David Moyes will be taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

All of the Manchester United players were told this afternoon at their Carrington training ground that the Toffee’s boss David Moyes would be appointed as United new manager.

A statement from Everton’s club website announced that Moyes would be leaving at the end of the season which is as follows:

“Everton can confirm that David Moyes will leave the club at the end of the season.

“The manager met Chairman Bill Kenwright early yesterday evening [May 8] and confirmed his desire to join Manchester United.

“The chairman, on behalf of the club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002. He has been an outstanding manager.

“During his tenure at Goodison Park, David has taken charge of the team on over 500 occasions including four European campaigns.

“His final two games as Everton manager will be the remaining Premier League matches against West Ham United and Chelsea.

“Everton officials will start the search for a replacement manager immediately.”

All the speculation so far is pointing towards Wigan’s manager Roberto Martinez should the Lactic’s be relegated, Everton would hope to entice the Spaniard back to the Premiership in a move I am not too sure Martinez would take.

He would still be in the position of managing a club with very limited resources, who could most likely lose one of their best players Marouane Fellaini this summer to the Club former manager Moyes is going to join.

Martinez is a good manager who I do not see going to Everton, with out of work Martin O’Neil being a better bet for your money.
