Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he would like to make one more signing this summer, but has ruled out trying to sign Barcelona’s Pedro.

Following on from Everton’s rejection of a £20 million bid by Chelsea for Defender John Stones, Mourinho hinted that the new signing would be for a defensive position.

Everton manager Roberto was very unhappy about the way Mourinho spoke publically about his wish to sign the young England defender and is now bracing himself for a second bid.

When asked if he was interested in signing Liverpool, and Manchester United target Pedro, Mourinho was coy with his answer saying: ‘I have five wingers, if I lose one maybe I am interested in another but at this moment I have balance and quality and numbers.’

‘I am looking for a defender to finish this balance in our squad and after that we are ready to answer anything that can happen to our players.

‘If one of our players in a specific position wants to leave, we agree a deal for a player to leave and we have to answer immediately and bring in somebody else, because at the moment we have balance in the squad and we cannot lose that.’

The Portuguese manager also admitted that Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah could be sold, or sent once more out on loan.

‘I see his future elsewhere,’ Mourinho added. ‘Either on loan or sold with an offer we are happy to accept. We have five wingers and it is better not to have Salah back.’
