The amazing outburst by the Chelsea manager came after the New Year’s Day match with Tottenham when in the tunnel following the game Mourinho shouted to referee Phil Dowd “You’re too fat to referee.”
Mourinho has since been charged by the Football association for claiming that referees were waging a campaign against Chelsea after the Blues draw with Southampton three days earlier.
Yet his latest rant in which witnesses claim he shouted at Dowd saying: “You’re too fat to referee, you should retire” and then added: “You’ve cost us.”
It is believed that Mourinho later went to Dowd’s dressing room to apologise and there was no mention of the incident in the referee’s report which suggests the pair made up.
