Morgan Schneiderlin agrees to join Arsenal says L’Equipe

According to French sports newspaper L’Equipe, Southampton defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has agreed to join Arsenal in the summer after making a personal agreement to turn down any approaches from Manchester United or Liverpool.

The 25-year-old Frenchman wanted to leave Southampton last summer but was not allowed to do so despite the departure of Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana.

Similar claims to the French newspaper were made last month by a Premier League player known as the Secret Footballer who said when asked about the Saints star and the Gunners link: “My understanding is that they have an agreement already in place with Schneiderlin.”

The £15 million rated midfielder, who by the way we think will move for more than that amount is also being backed by Gary Neville to make a big move saying: “I think he could play at any of the top clubs in the league, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United or Arsenal – he’s showed his quality this season.

“You look at Schneiderlin and Fonte today, there was no sweat on them. They’re composed and organised.”
