Liverpool is prepared to get tough with Seville over their valuation of Alberto Moreno by refusing to get involved in an auction for the left-back that Seville are now asking £18 million for according to the Daily Mirror.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said he is not prepared to pay £18 million for the 21-year-old who he considers to still lack experience telling Seville that he might be forced to look elsewhere after the Spanish club started offering the left-back to other clubs including Spurs in the hope of starting a bidding war.

Liverpool would like a decision of whether or not the Spanish club will accept Liverpool’s offer soon and if not Rodgers could turn his attention to Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand who could be available for £7 million after having spent last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Even though Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would not be keen on selling Bertrand to a rival club and most likely still hurting after the sale of Daniel Sturridge, with Bertrand’s contract running down and the FIFA’s financial fair play directive Chelsea could be forced to do business.

Meanwhile Liverpool will continue to pursue Moreno, but the feeling at Anfield is that the Reds are nowhere near completing a deal.
