Manchester United manager and fans will be pleased to have seen new recruit, Marcos Rojo been granted a UK work permit with the Argentine getting ready to make his much awaited debut for the club since his £16 million arrival from Sporting Lisbon in August.

Louis Van Gaal will also look to reshuffle the defence set up that has recently been criticised and will hope his team gets to perform when they host Queens Park Rangers after the international break next weekend.

Marcos Rojo is definitely needed in the United starting line-up if not for anything but his proposed ability to fit into the new system at Old Trafford.

Defenders, Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling, Tyler Blackett and Phil Jones have all failed to impress so far this season with their performances marred by various errors.

Marcos Rojo has been training with the team for close to a month and he shouldn’t have issues fitting into the squad.

Although the defender’s ability and talent was announced at the FIFA world cup where he played from the left back position effectively for Argentina, his two years at Sporting Lisbon has been as a central defender and it will be expected to be his position in Manchester United where the team seem to be lacking quality at the moment.

Marcos Rojo may have what it takes to play from the central defence position but his ability to adapt to Louis Van Gaal’s three centre backs is yet to be seen with his compatriots at the back already finding it difficult to cope with.

Asides playing from the left side of the three centre halfs, Rojo will also fit in at the left back position for Manchester United in the absence of Luke Shaw and Daley Blind who are considered front runners for the left back position.

Marcos Rojo’s latest involvement with the national team earned them a 4-2 victory over world champions Germany with Manchester United teammate angel Di Maria running the show with his attractive match winning performance.

It is still of the opinion that Manchester United is defensively handicapped despite the additions of top players this season which leaves the pressure on the defenders to perform and prove doubters wrong.

Manchester United was heavily linked with German defender, Matt Hummels in the summer but the Borussia Dortmund captain remained with the German side and Manchester United defensive imbalance is set to continue with injuries to Rafael, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw in the early part of the season.

The return of Jonny Evans from injury has done little to change the story with the defender committing so many errors in his last two matches.

He may not fit in to the high calibre players named in Manchester United attack and midfield, but the manager will definitely be excited to have him available for selection as the team seek for their first win of the season.
