Manchester United legends have been giving their opinion on the current squad in Old Trafford and they have also recorded their concerns about the policy of the club after the exit of Danny Welbeck to Arsenal for £16 million.

Paul Scholes and David Beckham have been the front runners and both claimed it difficult to accept the departure of Danny Welbeck as a Manchester United fan.

Danny Welbeck scored 29 times for Manchester United during his stay with the striker been a product of Manchester United academy.

It’s part of the team’s policy to grow up young players from the academy and let them flow and grow with the senior team.

With Louis Van Gaal at the helms of affairs, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley were allowed to leave Old Trafford as they are seen as surplus to the team’s requirements.

It may have been the team’s policy but Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge for 25 years making it easy to build that policy.

If the policy is it be maintained, they will also need to bring in top players to lift the team back to where it should be after a disastrous 2013/2014 season that saw them finish 7th in the English Premier League.

Paul Scholes and David Beckham are unhappy with the sale and feels the striker could have a good future at the club.

Paul Scholes who explained that Danny Welbeck is a good capture for Arsene Wenger believed he may not score 20-25 goals every season but he will give the Arsenal fans something to cheer.

David Beckham on the other hand also believes Danny Welbeck should have stayed in Old Trafford and been given a chance.

Former backroom staff under Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United’s identity have been broken with recent cash splash in the transfer market and sale of some of their home grown players.

The system in Old Trafford needs to be restructured and few home grown players can fit into the bill.

Most of this players doesn’t have what it takes to learn and adapt to a new style of football again and Louis Van Gaal’s proposed plan to nurture up the younger players in Tyler Blackett, James Wilson, Lingard and others must be commended.

With these youths just coming up, it’s important they stay under the right guardian which can help the club produce players that can stand up and face the world.

Another Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes or David Backham won’t be a bad idea for the team and Van Gaal’s line of action seem to work perfectly with Adnan Januzaj also a product of the team’s developmental project.

It’s sad when you see players like Welbeck leave clubs like Manchester United but some bold steps will need to be taken for the team to return back to the top.

Losing a Welbeck to increase the potency of the attack line isn’t a bad idea at all and if all goes as planned, Manchester United fans will be pleased with this decision.
