Manchester United are tracking Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella with the intent of signing the play-maker during the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old is Montpellier’s star performer and is regarded as one of the hottest properties in France hence the £100 million valuation the club say he is worth.

Previously Arsenal and AC Milan have been linked with Cabella, but now that Arsenal have signed Mesut Özil they will be no longer interested leaving United as the front runners for his signature.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has signalled that he wants to make at least two signings when the window opens in the New Year with a creative midfield talent top of his list.

Cabella ticks all the right boxes but Montpellier will have to be a little more realistic in their valuation after club president Louis Nicollin said in the summer it would take £100 million in order to make Montpellier sell.

Moyes sees the price at a much more realistic £15 million for the man who is being talked about as a possible new Zidane.
