Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke goes into today’s FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool knowing that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has lined him up as a possible summer signing.

The Belgium international impressed the Dutchman with his performance at Old Trafford, winning every ball he went for, and now that it has been decided not to extend Radamel Falcao’s time at the club and also offload Robin van Persie and send James Wilson out on loan, it makes sense to sign the Villa striker.

Just the other day Aston villa manager Tim Sherwood admitted that the 24-year-old could be sold this summer, and with just two years remaining on his contract United could pick him up for as little as £25 million.
