manchester united,

According to Marca Manchester United is planning to register David De Gea in their Champions League squad, which if it happens would virtually end any interest Real Madrid still had of trying to sign the 24-year-old Spanish international this summer.

Marca claim that Louis van Gaal has told the Spanish giants that they will have to pay a goalkeeper world record price of £32 million in order for United to let their two-time player-of-the-year move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The Red Devils now have until Monday to register De Gea to their Champions League squad before playing Club Brugge on August 18th, and should they add the Spaniards name it would end any thoughts of De Gea leaving Old Trafford this summer.

Here at Soccer Transfers we cannot understand Manchester United’s position regarding De Gea, as it is obvious to everyone that he (De Gea) wants to move back to Spain, and has no further interest in playing for United, a club he now feels has betrayed him, yet rather than sell him to Real Madrid now and get some money the club can put towards his replacement, they would rather shoot themselves in the foot and watch Real Madrid sign Gea for nothing next summer, when he walks away from Old Trafford a free agent.
