Manchester United is now closing in on a £50 million deal that will see Argentinian internationals Enzo Perez and Nicolas Gaitan move from Benfica to Old Trafford.
According to Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola, Manchester United scouts were watching during Benfica’s 2-1 loss to Braga Friday night as van Gaal gets ready to offer the Portuguese club £50 million for the Argentinian pair.
United very nearly signed midfielder Enzo Perez in the summer, before he signed a new deal to remain in Portugal, whilst attacking midfielder Nicolas Gaitan had been linked to a move to Old Trafford during Sir Alex Fergusons reign.
United currently are on a six game unbeaten run in the Premiership and is looking to bring in January reinforcements to have a serious run at the Premiership title and if nothing else at least qualify for next seasons Champions League.
