Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been told they must come up with what is described as a “sensational” offer if they want to sign AC Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy in January.

The 22-year-old Italian striker has been linked with several top European clubs including AS Roma and Borussia Dortmund as well as the Premiership duo.

The player’s agent Manuel El Shaarawy has told the Daily Express any club seriously interested will have to offer AC Milan a large sum of money in order to temp them to sell.

“I have not been contacted by Borussia Dortmund, nor by Roma, nor by any other club,” the player’s agent said.

“Stephan will not leave Milan in January unless there is a sensational offer, the type that no-one can be sure will arrive,” he said.

“He is at the centre of the Milan project, and the relationship with the Coach and the environment is excellent.”
