Manchester United will offer Everton Jonny Evans and cash in the hope of bringing Everton defender Seamus Coleman to Old Trafford.

Manager Louis van Gaal thinks that the Toffee’s right-back is the man he needs to fill that position after having been unable to sign either Dani Alves or Nathaniel Clyne.

Meanwhile Jonny Evans is feeling unwanted at Old Trafford as he nears the final year of his contract with no sign so far at least of it being renewed, and to make matters worse he has watched Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett all sign new deals with the club.

LVG is desperate to ensure he has a rock-solid defence ahead of the coming season and sees the Republic of Ireland international as a prime candidate as the club still pursues their interest in Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos, despite already having a £30 million bid rejected by the Spanish giants
