Despite the Gunner’s long term interest in Antoine Griezmann Manchester United scout David Friio has confirmed that United manager David Moyes wants to sign the Real Sociedad winger for the new team he wants to build during the summer.

The 22-year-old winger has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool for some time now, but Moyes is hoping to get a jump on the competition by signing the Frenchman before this summer’s World Cup according to METRO.

‘Griezmann would clearly bring something,’ United scout Friio told French paper L’Equipe.

‘His versatility and technique, in a tournament where the gaps are reduced, are real assets.

‘You can’t score 15 goals in a great league without having real qualities.’

This season Griezmann has scored as many La Liga goals as Lionel Messi with only Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored more goals.

The Manchester United boss is in the market for as many as eight new players this summer despite the names of Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Ilkay Gundogan starting to fade away as the Scot looks to completely overhaul the current United team.
