According to Tuttomercatoweb Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is looking to sign Lazio centre-half Stefan de Vrij for around £18 million.
The 23-year-old Dutch International put in a fine showing in last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil and is a more cost effective solution than Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels.
Van Gaal has confidence in the 23-year-old who offers a cool head and measured approach to his game making him the perfect candidate to strengthen United’s defence.
