According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Seville central midfielder Ever Banega, with an eye towards a January transfer, as they look to bolster their squad to battle for a top four finish.
The 27-year-old Argentinian has scored six goals in 16 appearances for his Spanish la Liga club this season also attracting interest from Catalan giants Barcelona.
So far this January Manchester United has been quiet in the transfer window, except to let want away goalkeeper Victor Valdes join Belgium club Standard Liege on loan.
