manchester united,

If a report by Metro who are citing Tuttosport is true, Manchester United will be beating Juventus to the signing of high rated Monaco star Bernado Silva this summer. Manchester United who are currently fifth on the Premier league table having defeated Everton 1-0 at home on Sunday are said to have been monitoring the Portuguese winger for sometime and will hope to make a move for him once the transfer window is officially declared open.

Bernado Silva, 21, has been one of Monaco’s better players this season so far. In 39 appearances, he has scored five goals and created three assists for his team mates. Rated at £16 million, the winger is said to also be on the radar of Serie A champions Juventus. Juventus are said to have had scouts to watch him in the French league and in Europe in the last couple of weeks.

The player is said to have been identified as a key target for incoming Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. And with Manchester United not having any natural wingers, signing Silva will make sense but the interest from Juventus if true should worry the Red devils. The lure of Champions League football could work in favour of Juventus in the race of the signature of the high rated Portuguese.

However, with the new TV money, Manchester United could use a bigger wage offer to tempt the player to Old trafford. If the likes of Lavezzi and Alex Teixeria could go to China because of the lure of more money, United could use money to beat Juventus to the signing of Bernado Silva as well.
