Top clubs have recently been linked with Newcastle United goalkeeper, Tim Krul.

The Dutch shot stopper have been in good run of form for Newcastle United in recent years and the latest news been reported is a possible move of Manchester United for the 2014 FIFA world cup bronze medal winner.

Manchester United may sign Krul with the influence of Louis Van Gaal, Daley Blind and Robin Van Persie.

Despite the arrival of six new players in the summer transfer window, the manager has been told he can spend in January if he so wish with Roma’s Kevin Strootman and Borussia’s Dortmund Matt Hummels on his card although the former look more likely in January than the later.

Manchester United according to reports came close to signing Argentine goalkeeper, Romero on the transfer deadline day but failed to land the Argentine world cup semi-final hero.

It seems their attention has now been turned towards Tim Krul and it won’t be a bad idea after all to land the Newcastle goalkeeper.

Juventus, Napoli and Atletico Madrid have also shown interest in the Dutch goalkeeper but Manchester United will be hoping to lure him to the club.

One of the challenges of the move is whether Tim Krul will be comfortable as a cover up goalkeeper at 26 with David De Gea holding on tightly to the spot in Old Trafford.

However, Manchester United may have to bring in a good back-up goalkeeper if they are to strengthen every position in a bid to return back to top four this season.

The manager has been given a mission to finish in the first three and an addition of Tim Krul will help boost their chance.

Andreas Lindergard was placed on the transfer list in the summer according to reports suggesting the current back-up goalkeeper for Manchester United may have his future at the club cut short soonest.

Ben Amos may remain the third goalkeeper and with possible exit of Sam Johnstone, Tim Krul’s arrival will be appreciated in Old Trafford.

David De Gea has been in a good run of form and did well to keep Manchester United in matches even with their horrible form last season but the Spaniard will need a strong competition from another good goalkeeper to keep his form and pace in the team.

Looking at rivals like Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal, they all possess a good cover up goalkeeper in Petr Cech, Wily Caballero, Vorm and Ospina respectively.

Tim Krul has proven to be one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the league over the years and his place in Manchester United to compete with David De Gea will be a great idea that will keep both players on top of their game thus lifting the team.
