Manchester United is prepared to offer goalkeeping sensation David De Gea to Real Madrid in a bid designed to get Gareth Bale to move to Manchester United according to the Daily Star, who say that United manager Louis van Gaal sees Bale as his marquee summer signing.

Bale cost an astonishing £85 million when he joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2013, and has so far at least with the fans failed to live up to expectations after being criticised for not working hard enough.

Reports suggest that he is not happy in the Spanish capital and that he would be open to a return to the Premiership after having been linked not just to United but also Chelsea, who are said to be interested in offering Real Madrid £150 million for both Bale and French defender Raphael Varane.

There is of course no secret in Real Madrid’s desire to sign David DE Gea, whom they see as the perfect replacement for the now 34-year-old Iker Casillas.

Here at Soccer Transfers we feel that the only way United would ever let De Gea go is if the goalkeeper is pushing for a move with reports saying he and LVG do not get along.

Otherwise it is complete madness, as United do not need to use arguably one of the world’s best goalkeepers to pursued Los Blanco’s to sell Bale, so as far as we are concerned this story is a non-starter unless as we already said De Gea is determined to leave Old Trafford.
