Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been told he is free to go after the £17.2 million rated Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic as the Italians under new manager Roberto Mancini look to make changes during the summer.

The 20-year-old Croatian international is currently one of the most sought after young midfielders in the world, and has had scouts from Real Madrid watching him in the Serie A this season.

Inter is said to be aware of the interest in the former Dinamo Zagreb player and are thought to be willing to sell if the price is right.

Everton has already had a bid of £14.6 million knocked back by the Nerazzurri who are looking to get a bigger price for the player many people are comparing to Cesc Fabregas, and should Arsenal come up with the required fee we at Soccer Transfers feel they would be getting a bargain.

The question is does Arsenal really need to invest in another midfielder, when it is other parts of the squad that needs attention?

Saying that however after having watched him in action it he would be hard to turn down as you can see from the video below.
