A Manchester United Official has been speaking to Spanish sports newspaper, and mouthpiece for Real Madrid; Marca about Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea joining Los Blanco’s and claims the Red Devils are powerless to stop the two-time player-of-the-year award winner leaving Old Trafford.

Once the 24-year-old made it clear that he wanted to join the Spanish giants United had a big decision to make, and that was to either sell him now or see him walk away for nothing next summer.

The obvious choice of course was to sell him now, but use Real Madrid’s desire to sign him to their advantage and get something other than just cash in return, which is why they have gone after Sergio Ramos.

This is what the United official told Marca: ‘It’s a shame that he’s leaving, because he’s a great lad and one of the best keepers in the world; but he’s Spanish and I think that when Real Madrid beckons, there’s not much we can do.’
