Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling has once more missed training with the club insisting he is not well. The want-away star is said to be resting at his home in Southport with Liverpool apparently sending out doctors to check on the 20-year-old.

The reports we were seeing yesterday implied that Sterling did not have a problem with the club, but with manager Brendan Rodgers vowing never to kick a ball for him again.

Sterling is known to want to leave Anfield this summer and with Manchester City already making two bids for his services this could just be the way he is behaving to push through a deal.

Meanwhile Liverpool fly out to Thailand on Sunday to begin their pre-season tour and if Sterling is not on the plane there will be repercussions for his behaviour.

In these days of modern football all big players seem to get what they want in the end, with the clubs powerless to go against them.

Sterling however has two years remaining on his contract so the Reds owners if they wanted could just have him sit on the bench each week until the club gets the £50 million they want to let him leave.
