A group of angry Manchester United season ticket holders have paid for a banner towing plane to fly over Old Trafford this weekend towing a banner that reads ‘Wrong One – Moyes Out.’

The group of angry fans all chipped in to pay £840 to have the banner towed around the stadium before they take on Aston Villa Saturday lunchtime.

Moyes who took over the club from Sir Alex Ferguson last summer is presiding over United’s worst ever campaign in the Premier League, and the fans have had enough saying that their protest is to mock the banner in Old Trafford that depicts Moyes as the “Chosen One” after having been hand-picked by Ferguson to replace him when he stepped down.

One of the angry group told the Daily Mirror:  “It was an idea put forward by a member of the Red Issue forum, because we have had enough of the ‘Chosen One’ banner.

“We set up a PayPal account on the forum and we raised nearly £1,000.

“The forum is made up of hard-core fans and I would say 90 per cent of them have had enough of David Moyes.

“It’s not just the results, it’s the excuses and the way we are playing.

“We don’t care that Sir Alex Ferguson says we should get behind him and we want people to know that not every single fan is behind David Moyes.”
