Manchester United CONFIRMS they will GO AFTER £25m Arsenal Target

Manchester United has confirmed that they will switch their attention to Arsenal’s No.1 summer target Morgan Schneiderlin if their fail in their attempt to convince Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger to move to Old Trafford.

A senior United figure told the Daily Star: “Yes, we are interested in Morgan but no deal is imminent.”

According to all reports United has already been in contact with the 25-year-old French international to let him know of their interest, and while he has also been linked with a move to both Arsenal and Tottenham, he has told friends that it is Manchester United who he would really like to play for.

Southampton has offered the defensive midfielder an increase in pay to £60,000 per-week, but he has already expressed his desire to play Champions League football next season so appears 100% set on leaving St Marys.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is looking to cover the highly experienced Michael Carrick’s deep lying defensive position at Old Trafford and should an audacious £10 million move for the World Cup winning German not come off they are prepared to meet Southampton’s asking price of £25 million for Schneiderlin.

In related news Saints boss Ronald Koeman is said to be interested in bringing United’s Mexican international striker Javier Hernandez to the south coast following his loan spell at Real Madrid, which brings up the possibility of a cash plus player deal being discussed between the two clubs.
