The Red Devils are expected to unleash a £150 million ‘war chest’ when the summer transfer window opens, but any signings this January are less clear.

Here we are halfway through the January transfer window, and Manchester United have as yet made no moves, at least no moves that we know about, and it looks like it could remain that way if we take seriously what manager Louis van Gaal said yesterday.

LVG said: They (Manchester United) ‘shan’t be very active’ this month because ‘few good players are available’.

Van Gaal made it clear that if there were to bring any players in the must be better than players he currently has.

Here at Soccer Transfers we feel United will still try and sign Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne, but with the Saints third in the table it may be difficult to put a January move together.
