Manchester United and Chelsea have recently been linked with French international midfielder Paul Pogba, and now Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that his star player may have to leave Turin.

“We will do everything within out limits to hold on to Pogba, but we must not forget Italy is a country in transition,” Marotta told reporters on Sunday after the champions’ 4-0 win over Verona.

“The problem we have is that of offers coming in from other clubs offering him a salary that we are not able to match due to our financial situation.

“At the moment, there’s no reason to believe that Pogba will definitely leave Juventus for another team, but we have to bear in mind that we cannot compete with the wages that are being paid elsewhere. We have our limits.”

Add to this the player’s opinion of his value and you get an entirely different story when speaking to Sky Port Italia after the win against Verona Pogba said: “I am worth €0. I am worth nothing unless I work on the field in every single game.”

We all know of course that is not the case as the Italian giants already start to test the water ahead of a summer move.
